Step 1 for DIY Burlap Heart Topiaries

First, glue 2 of the Burlap Hearts together

I put a little bit of hot glue on the end of a skewer and glued at the base of one of the burlap hearts…then hot glued along the edges of the 2 hearts connecting them.

Distressing DIY Burlap Heart Topiary

To add more interest to the hearts & skewer, I used distressing ink pads

I applied ink to the entire skewer to give it a stained look and then just applied along the edges of the burlap hearts to add a more aged look.

These little Dollar Tree pots are just so adorable for craft projects….and I love the organic, natural look they give projects, especially these Burlap Heart Topiaries

For the little seed pot, just hot glue a piece of floral foam into the bottom

To tie the pot in with the look of the project, I also rubbed a little distressing ink on it as well

A couple of these Valentine’s Tags made the perfect embellishment for this project

Be sure to Sroll Down to the end of this post to Dowload yours! I ripped the edges of the tag after I cut it out….then I crushed it up to give it an older paper appearance, and then applied the same distressing ink along the edges

Once you decide how tall you want to leave your Burlap Heart Topiary, cut the skewer down with scissors

After tying a little jute string through hole of tag, I slid it on the skewer before inserting it into floral foam. And then I drizzled a little hot glue on top of foam & added the green moss.

The ripped piece of osnaburg fabric makes the perfect little bow

I just tied it like a shoestring & hot glued at the base of the heart.

A few sprigs of green berry bush looks great layered over the moss

Using a little hot glue, I attached a couple pieces of my favorite green berry garland right on top of the moss.

As a final touch, I hot glued a little button in the center of the bow & my DIY Burlap Heart Topiaries are complete!

There are so many embellishments that would look so cute on this project. If you prefer the traditional pinks and reds for Valentine’s, consider painting the pot and adding a colorful bow! I was going for a very natural, neutral look and just ADORE how they came out!

Hi Glenda…it would have to be your printer settings I guess? They are sized to 8.5x11in and should just be a full page printout….I would do a print preview before sending to printer again so you can figure out what is happening??
