I’ve got another super beautiful & unique faux finish for ya! I decided to make a wooden fleur de lis door hanger look like Rusty Metal!! It’s so realistic looking that you’d probably knock on it to make sure it isn’t really metal lol! And what’s so unique & intriguing is how I created the “Rust”!

Would you believe that Cinnamon+Mod Podge creates the most realistic looking rust?! I’ve actually done it on a few things, like these Plastic Christmas Bells

But I loved the technique soooo much, I decided it would look fabulous on this Fleur de Lis! Why fleur de lis? Well, just some extra info in case you don’t know already, I’m a Louisiana girl & the fleur de lis symbol is a HUGE part of our French heritage culture here! It’s such a pretty shape too!

So here’s what you’ll need to do this particular project, but feel free to try this technique on all sorts of surfaces & projects!!
