If you’re looking for the perfect jar decor to transition from holiday to holiday, then THIS. IS. IT. And even better, no painter’s tape for this one! I decided to try out a few methods of getting a rustic, watercolor looking buffalo plaid. I’m happy to report that I have found my favorite way to paint buffalo plaid. PERIOD!!!

For this project, I chose to use chalk paints by Dixie Belle. I’ll provide a supply list & instructional video below!
Here’s what you need to give this buffalo plaid jar a try:
- Mason Jar (I used a quart size)
- Chalk Paint (colors used “Fluff” white, “Caviar” black, & “Driftwood” gray by Dixie Belle)
- 1in foam brushes
- Paint brush
- Smaller detail brush
- Sand paper
- Rubbing Alcohol+Rag to clean glass
Well, what do you think??!! Pretty simple right? And check out the pumpkin sign I did with orange colors using the same technique.
You can’t tell me that doesn’t look pretty cool! WAY easier than messing with all that painter’s tape! I’m definitely SOLD & will not be pulling out the tape ever again haha! I also, did the cutest gray plaid sign HERE! Basically you can work with lots of color palettes using this technique! I hope you’ll give it a try!
