Neutral & Rustic Valentine’s Mantel

Putting together this simple & neutral Valentine’s Mantel was so FUN…..and I just LOVE how it turned out! This was actually my first time to decorate for Valentine’s & even though using red & pink theme is probably most popular, I wanted to try a more muted color scheme!

So let me give you a photo tour & tell you where I picked up a some of the decor. I even featured one of my favorite DIYs…..this Mixed Media Heart Art!

I found these adorable LOVE & Arrow ribbons at Hobby Lobby and knew they would be the perfect feature ribbons in a cute bow!! So I whipped up a faux loop bow & tied it to a wooden dowel to create this pick!

I had a vintage wooden column vase full of fluffy cotton & this bow was the perfect accent!

& how cute is that large grapevine heart!?? I found it in the Valentine’s section at Hobby Lobby! I think we can always count on finding the cutest accents at Hobby Lobby lol. Also, vintage books always add interest & texture!

I am definitely drawn to natural looking elements, so I added even more grapevine hearts by creating a mini grapevine heart garland. I found these mini ones in the wedding section at Hobby Lobby(1/2 off of course)!

I simply tied jute string onto my vintage window & used the string to attach each heart. I didn’t really want to glue the hearts to the string…..mostly because I prefer having options with accents like these for future creations.

My clever hubby pointed out how easy it would be to tie jute string to my vintage window, then set each heart onto the string (I took a close up picture because it’s kinda hard to explain lol). They are very easy to adjust & space out this way too. BEST IDEA EVER!! I’m the worst at looking past simple solutions sometimes lol. Thanks to my sweet Justin for coming to the rescue of my overthinking haha!

I really love how easy the garland was & it added so much to the whole gathering! This white chippy window is pretty amazing too! I’ve moved it all over my house & I’m kind of obsessed with the unique glass panes that are still intact!

Now you see that beautiful DIY Mixed Media Heart Art I have leaned on the window! It was pretty easy to create & you can find the tutorial HERE! Because it’s so neutral, you could absolutely get away with leaving it out all year long!

The next little vignette features a sweet, hand-lettered “I love us” sign by my friend Danielle over at Imperfect Dust! Y’all should definitely check out her work…..she makes a beautiful variety of hand-lettered art!

I found this vintage clipboard at a junk sale & attached a wooden photo of my favorite people!! My awesome sister gifted this wooden photo to me & I just love how it looks on this clipboard! Lastly, I used old spindles to add more height & interest!

& I’m just so in LOVE with how it all looks together!!! Let me know your favorite part & thank you for visiting the blog! If you want some other Valentine’s project inspiration, here are some other creations Fabric Message Hearts, I Love You Today Because Chalkboard, XOXO Shim Sign

All smiles, Summer
