I also made a Quick Video Tutorial…..keep scrolling to end of this post for the YouTube video of me actually making the DIY Riser from a Vintage Pyrex Basket!

I do enjoy making Riser Trays and made THIS ONE using a Sign Blank if you’re looking for even more inspiration!

Let’s go over the SIMPLE STEPS for creating this Basket Riser!

The most interesting part of this makeover have to be the Wooden SNOWMAN riser feet, so let’s start with those!

FIRST, painting the snowmen:

I painted all 4 snowmen with brown acrylic paint and wiped off with a baby wipe immediately. This simply stains the wood.

Once paint was dry, I painted with creamy chalk paint and wiped that back with a baby wipe. This finishing tehnique is so beautiful on items with details. The little crevices on the snowmen held the paint to create that Whitewashed look.

Just look at that GORGEOUS Whitewashed Finish on those snowmen!

Now, Let’s DECOUPAGE this Beautiful Cottagecore Fabric I found at Hobby Lobby

Using a pencil, I traced along the edge of the wooden bottom to give me a cut line and a piece of fabric perfectly measured for decoupaging inside the basket.

Now it’s time to decoupage the piece of fabric I cut out using Mod Podge Glue!

After applying a generous coat to wood bottom, I placed the fabric inside the basket.

It’s a good idea to press the fabric from the center to the outside edge so the fabric will stretch out.

With everyday use, you’ll want to protect your fabric from stains. I decided to seal with more Mod Podge glue.

I didn’t originally plan to add decorative trim, but now I can’t imagine the project without it!

As an added touch, I hot glued some braided jute trim along the edge of the wood basket bottom.

Don’t you think that little detail gave it a finished look?

The Star Detail of this project has to be the SNOWMEN as RISER FEET though, so let’s get those attached!

To attach, I turned them upside down and applied E6000 glue on the bottom of each snowman before setting on the corners of the basket.

Remember E6000 is a slow setting glue and needs several hours to dry….overnight is even better!

Now let’s get this pretty DIY Riser Styled for fall!

I’m currently using this unique decor piece on my kitchen island, but I think it would look great in any room! This VINTAGE HARVEST Soy Candle smells AMAZING by the way!

The Ceramic Crackle Pumpkin came from Dollar Tree and the tiny pumpkins were in the Target Dollar Spot.

I think it all goes together nicely, don’t you?!

Now who knew a Repurposed Pyrex Basket could be so ADORABLE as a DIY Riser!

Thanks for stopping by the blog! I hope to inspire you through each and every one of my projects!

I’d love to know your favorite detail from this sweet project!
