Chalk-Painted Sweatshirt
Have you ever wanted a shirt or sweatshirt with a certain saying, but couldn’t find exactly what you wanted!!?? This is what sparked the joy of using chalk paint to create this fun “Gumbo Weather” sweatshirt!
This post may contain referral links to products used. This means I may earn a small commission if you make a purchase at no additional cost to you. I only refer products I use & love!
If you want to give the project a whirl, here are the supplies I used:
- Blank Sweatshirt (this one on Amazon is the one I used)
- Dixie Belle chalk paint in color “caviar”
- Foam dobber brush
- Wax Paper
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Gumbo Weather vinyl stencil (I designed & cut mine on my silhouette machine)
- Pick, Burnishing Tool & Transfer paper for stencil
It’s actually pretty simple….all the steps are in the video below!
Well, what do you think about it? It holds up so nicely….& even better it comes with NO special laundry instructions! Just wash & dry normally! It really looks like screen-printing! I’m kind of addicted to doing this haha!
And if you don’t have a cutting machine to make a stencil, I’m sure someone you know has one (just be sure they use the stenciling vinyl instead of permanent).
But if you are considering getting one, I just have to say I seriously don’t know what my little craftin’ life would look like without my cutting machine. I have an entire Silhouette machine category organized over in my Amazon Influencer shop! Check it out HERE!
