Chalk-Painted Tablet Holder

So I have this really awesome friend, who just happens to do some pretty amazing woodworking projects! And wouldn’t you know he just happened to think I might need one of these nifty creations for my studio!

My friend Steven of Stowe Creek Woodworks surprised me one day with a wooden tablet holder! Y’all!!!!! This is one of those cool things you didn’t know you needed until you start using it!!

He dropped if off & messaged me saying “I left you something outside your door….paint or stain to your liking” lol. Now that’s a good friend!! And so I did….paint it! But I decided to make it even more special by making it an inspirational sign too! This way, if my tablet isn’t on it, it would send a beautiful message!

First I painted it all with a white chalk paint, then distressed with sander.

Next, I applied my stencil, which I created on my silhouette machine.

Then…to fill in the words, I used a foam dobber+black chalk paint.

Lastly, I decided to give it some extra protection by applying flat clear coat.

In the video below, I time-lapse all the steps I took to get these beautiful results!!

It really is awesome! I’ve always got something going on the tablet…..training, lives, podcasts etc. And it really is so pretty too!
